Bailout Plan

Instead of bailing out those greedy people who will probably will just buy another house or take a 17 million dollar bonus, listen to my proposal. How about we give every adult over 18 200 k?? I ask you what would you do with your cut? Pay off bills, buy a house, put a bunch of it in the bank,? Now wouldn't that fix everything? banks would get there money everyone upside down in there house would pay it off.. so there you go please comment and tell me what you think about this. And remember to vote for Griffin 08!

Or take that $700 billion and give it to the Cubs organization to buy a real team to put on the field...just a suggestion.

I think your idea is lovely in theory and wish someone would give me $200 K. Banks do not loan money to people to get the principal back they loan money to people to make money on the interest that supports their operations including paying their high priced officers and their low wage tellers. Also, by handing out this money, which we will eventually have to pay back to the government through (you guessed it) taxes you are essentially screwing yourself. Not to mention it would likely lead to a ridiculous amount of inflation. So as nice as the idea is it would still likely ruin our economy.

I think an even better idea would be to take all home owners that make a payment every month on time and pay half of their mortgage off. It's only fair.

You get my vote!! I'll be writing you in on the ballot here in Utah.

I would be totally out of debt for 200k and then some. I could actually retire on time since now my retirement is gone... Dow Jones dropped and so did my retirement. Sigh... Guess I'll work another 20 years.... 72 - yuck.

yet another good question on my blog from mr. ricker...

sit down, grab a snacky, put on your reading glasses and enjoy :)

answer...yes, it's basically the word "marriage" that's being voted on. no rights will be taken away, the union of the 2 just won't be called a "marriage" like it's used for heterosexual, traditional leagl unions.

and no, teachers won't HAVE to read stories about princes marrying princes, but if they do, the parents do not have the option to pull their child out on such days or curriculum. as in Massachusetts, the school told a child's parents that since it was part of MA law, the parents had no right to decide what their child would or would not hear in school. yes this is an extreme example, but the point is made.

regardless of homosexuality being taught in schools, if this Proposition passes, it will also challenge the Church's tax exempt status as well as open up plenty of opportunity for law-suits against the Church. ie- there could be a law-suit for a bishop refusing to marry a homosexual couple in one of our chapels...etc.

i just posted another video on the right side of my blog...it gives some good examples of why Prop 8 is so important and controversial.

i'm sure my readers think i'm a wacky pro-prop 8 obsessor, and well, i guess they would be right :)

my personal feelings are that yes, it would be sad for a person to not be granted "marriage" regardless of who they want to marry. and in most cases, same-sex couples are fabulous parents and fantastic citizens. however, in my opinion, from a larger perspective, allowing for same-sex marriage does challenge and harm the basic unit of society...the family as our Creator intended it to be. and it does impact us all in regards to the society our sweet little babes grow up in.

and i guess my final reason for being so gung-ho on this issue is because the First Presidency and Elder Ballard have specifically addressed members voting on this propostion and asked us to do everything in our power to support it and ensure it passes.

i figure they have a bit more knowledge and insider trading information, if you know what i mean, than i do.

hope you haven't fallen asleep yet and that some q's have been answered. feel free to throw any more my way you may have - it's good for me to keep up on my research skills :)

love you! sincerely, your long-winded picket-sign marching cousin, hayley
(i'm kidding - i'm not really marching in picket lines on this issue)
